Day 15

Sorry for the skipped day yesterday. Only things to report from yesterday was they switched to the temporary dialysis (hemodialysis) from the continuous round-the-clock dialysis. Yet another step in the right direction.
Today was more of the same although no dialysis at all today...so all the pent up fluid in her system is making her a bit puffy.
Lungs are better. Blood pressure is better and she's no longer on any BP medicine. Her color has returned to normal and she looks great.
She's been waking up and trying to pull her tubes out so we had to restrain her hands which actually had the effect of calming her down and she slept most of the day without an addition of sedatives.
The secondary infection is still an issue but it seems like they're getting closer to a solution.
The plan is to do another dialysis session tomorrow...see how she handles it and continue on with the same treatments.

More tomorrow...

  1. Erik,

Jon sent me the link to this blog after telling about Tessa. I just wanted to post up that I hope everything works out ok and that Tessa will soon be back home with her family where she belongs.

My thoughts and best wishes go to you and your family, and especially Tessa at this difficult time.

    Warm regards
    Dave

  2. It was a true privilege to visit with Tessa and you two yesterday. Despite everything Tessa has gone through, and all the tubes, wires, probes, restraits, electrodes, tapes and gosh knows what, she looks beautiful! Tessa couldn't hope for better parents or better care. Healing will soon start accelerating! Love, Randy

  3. I'm so happy to hear that things are getting better little by little.

Know it must be hard and the longevity of the healing process frustrating.

We are here if you need to take your mind of things. A hike, bike-ride, a barbecue, anything...

Katie I have time off until our baby is due so please let me know if you want some company - I would love to meet Julia too of course.
I'm out hiking with Bailey everyday if you ever want to join me.

Hope Tessa will be up and about soon, sure the little fighter will be...

Suzie is sending her love to all of you as well. She had her church pray for Tessa's quick recovery!

Lots of hugs, Linda & Andrew Pollak
